Ava's 1st virus

Ava caught her first virus! However, I'm still amazed that we made it to 15 months before she got sick. She has the common Roseola which she presumably caught from a little boy who kept feeding her his food at the baby shower we attended last weekend. I have never seen Ava so miserable in her life as she was while she was sick.

Her fever peaked at 104 and remained between 103-103.8 for three days before it finally came down to 101. Once her fever broke she broke out in the classic full body rash which looked more like hives. This rash was also similar to the one she had from her reaction to her Chicken Pox Vaccine at her 12 month checkup. She's all better now though, just in time for Halloween!!!!

The virus she caught is a summer virus too which her Pediatrician said was still around because of our unusually warm weather. So not only are the summer viruses still going around but the winter ones have made their debut as well! Lets all hope for some cooler weather to ease these bugs and remember to keep washing our hands (especially after trick-or-treating)!
