It's been awhile and we've been busy moving! Not far, of course, but it's an all new place with more Ava space! I was worried about how Ava would deal with the move and hoping she wouldn't feel any baby anxiety as we boxed up all of her toys and everything else that made up her former home. She became a little worried when I started taking HER furniture out and kept looking to make sure her crib was still there. Otherwise she seemed fine except for her curiosity that caused her to keep digging through the boxes I was packing up!
The weekend we moved Ava stayed with Mom-Mom for 2 nights! This was the longest she ever spent away from us and even though I missed her, I was too busy moving to think about it too much. Ava was really good for the most part but after 24 hours away from us she started to get easily irritated and even got herself so upset at one point that she threw up! I feel so bad for having to leave her for the weekend but I spent all that time getting her new bedroom ready for and it was perfect by the time she arrived!
When Ava showed up last Sunday and walked into her new room the only word out of her mouth was "WOW!" and she immediately went exploring. We finally set up her new kid sized table and chair set for her that Grandma & Grandpa ("Ga-ma & Cappa") gave Ava for Christmas and it has become her favorite thing in her room! Her second favorite thing seems to be the lavender wall color as she continuously walks up to the wall, points to it and says "purple, purple." (She's really getting good at naming colors lately).
As the week progressed Ava has been spending less time in her bedroom and more time by my side in whatever room I may be in. At the moment she is sitting on my bed watching Teletubbies and winding down for her nap. I think once she really gets used to the place, her own room and ALL of the boxes are gone she will be more comfortable.
