Every morning while Ava is watching "My Friends Tigger & Pooh" the mail man usually comes. She see's him through the window as he drops the mail in the mail box and always exclaims, "Mommy! That's the mail man! Not Grandpa!" Grandpa comes home for lunch everyday but she remembers that the mail man always arrives first so she's sure to tell me when he's there. I suppose since it is a part of her morning routine and she knows to expect him it excites her. Of course, toddlers crave routine in their lives.
This morning was a little different, however. We broke our routine with a tea party downstairs in the family room. As I noticed the mail main coming up the walk I went to retrieve the mail as I was expecting two packages. But today, there was a large envelope just for Ava. As I told her that she recieved mail her eyes lit up with such excitement.
"For me, Mommy?!" she exclaimed.
"Just for you, Ava," I replied. "A Halloween treat fom Aunt Cindy and Uncle David"
"From Aunt Sydney and Uncle David?!" She excitedly asked. (She's confusing Aunt Cindy with our cat, Sydney)
Ava's Great Aunt Cindy & Uncle David sent her a halloween treat and she wouldn't put it down all morning. She received Halloween Dora stickers, one of her absolute favorite things to play with lately and a halloween coloring book that she is already scribling in. Everywhere she went this morning she carried her card with her and made sure to let everyone know that it was her "mail delivery," and that she recieved a letter. I could tell that it made her feel important.
Aunt Cindy & Uncle Dave sure are good at figuring out the key to her heart. The stickers were so right on. For the past 3 weeks we have gone through sheet after sheet of stickers as Ava likes to wear a few each day and shares them with mommy. I show up to work sometimes and even find some on my clothes that I was completely unaware were there. And everytime we head to the craft store we aren't allowed to leave without stopping by the sticker isle for ava to pick out new stickers.
*Thanks for thinking of Ava this Halloween Uncle Dave & Aunt Cindy!

As much as I'd like to take credit, the items were all Cindy's choices. We're glad it made her happy!
