School Days

September has snuck up on us quickly just as we were begining to settle into a summer routine. The last three weeks brought such beautiful weather in the middle 70s and we headed to the beach often over the course of those weeks to enjoy it.

The suppressive heat mixed with terrible storms that brought an end to July and pushed us into August kept us indoors for quite sometime. All that heat mixed with the construction on the house made for plenty of stir crazy days. {Ava definitely was not the only one going stir crazy in this house either.}

But September is here and of course that means fall is quickly approaching as it is back to school time for many. For us, however, it means heading to school for the very first time.

The first day of school is usually scary for many children but Ava is embracing it with open arms. Little Miss Independent is so excited to be heading to school she's even ready to go without me.

"Mommy, you can drive to school in your car," Ava said, "I'm going to take the school bus!"

She was of course a little dissappointed when I had to break the news that there was no school bus for preschool.

Her first day should be fine and I doubt there will be any tears from her. She has been talking about going to school for the last 6 months! I of course will be the one feeling the Ava withdrawal as she is usually attatched to my hip every moment I'm home.

It's a big step and a big day for both of us... a little letting go, loosening my grip. As an overprotective, very hands on single mama I'm finding it awfully hard to do.  So thank goodness for part-time preschool! I am so not ready for a full day yet!

Good luck, my little Lovie, tomorrow you will be just fine!
Good luck, to little Bunny, Ava is slowly detatching from you.
Good luck, to silly Me, I need not to worry so much! ♥
