time rushes by

Every time I look at Ava I wonder where all the time has gone. Lately we have been so busy with the move, unpacking, redecorating and just settling back into place that I haven't had as much one-on-one time for Ava. And somewhere during that time she grew a little and I missed it. She's taller and her feet definitely got bigger. But I realized that she's now able to speak in conversations. Her vocabulary just sprouted and I find myself wondering where she even learned specific phrases or even the names for things. She's such a sponge as she absorbs so much knowledge from everyone and everything.

She can read her Priddy Books from cover to cover now and she knows every single object on every single page. She couldn't do that before we moved. She only knew a little more than half of the pages. Now she's at the point of mimicking where you only have to say a word or describe an object once and she knows it. She has definitely progressed into her toddler personality as well which really shows when she likes to test her limits or when she completely ignores the word "No."

She's only 20 months and I already feel like she's growing up way too fast as she has turned into a very independent little girl. But then there are nights like tonight and last night where she woke up upset and crying which is very unusual for her. But after a cup of milk she fell back asleep in my arms just as she used to do when she was an infant. That is when I realized that no matter how big she will grow she'll always fit comfortably in my embrace.
